Just came back from Switzerland. Went to EU through Germany with my Hublot Classic Fusion rep on, coming back through Zurich. Going through Germany, I forgot to even take my watch off my wrist and passed through the metal detector fine. On my way back, through Zurich no one even cared about my rep, as it was just "another thing" in the pile of coats, phones, keys, etc.

This is just so entertaining and hilarious
I've been in EU, Asia (Pakistan / India) & Middle East countries and never had an issue at all.

My experience may be of use to fellow members and OP.

I generally travel with a watch on each wrist. On a recent trip via JFK, I happened to have a Breitling GMT Chronomat on my left wrist and a Hublot Fusion Big Bang on the right wrist.
I never get stopped at security so did not anticipate anything this time either, until just as I was picking up my keys, cellphone ,laptop off the tray after the X ray machine, the security guy (a big beefy fellow, with a sharp eye....) stopped me.
"You, sir", he said, "are a twat".

I agreed, apologized profusely and promised to never touch a Hublot again.

Close shave, and an important lesson for me, personally. Hope it is of help to others.

I moved from London to Spain temporarily this last October (haven't very active here since), and took a case of 8 watches full. Aquanaut, Royal Oak, Datejust, Nautilus, you name it. No one gave a flying **** about them :)
Wow, do you travel often with 6 watches? I would find it suspicious...

Frequent flyer, at least 40 a year, never been stopped or asked.
Never even gave it a second thought before reading this.
My interpretation is that it is not illegal to own & wear a rep. Am I wrong?

Excerpts from A Clockwirx Red by diverdown60.
The following is a real story:

When they confiscated mine, the TSI agents escorted me into a room deep within the bowels of the RDU airport. They made me remove my ARF 116650 Black Ceramic White Dial A4130 904L. Once they had it, they passed it around taking turns looking at it. Then the TSI director appeared from the back room. He took the ARF and proceeded to check the sub dials to see if they were operational. Once he discovered the sub dials at 3&9 were "frozen" , he turned to me and shook his head in disapproval. He then tossed the daytona into a pile of watches marked by a big Replica sign. The agents grabbed my arms and sat me in a chair. The chair was overlooking a large pile of Replica watches. The agents then strapped me tightly into the chair and placed little wire hooks inside of my eyelids. This forced my eyes to remain wide open, I could not blink, could not look away. There was a big female agent that kept putting saline solution drops into my eyes to prevent them from drying out.
Suddenly, I heard a large machine start up. It was a rather large machine that had a huge roller on the front. They made me watch while the roller proceeded to roll over and pulverize the once shiny pile of replicas into a pile of crushed glass and metal. Main springs were jutting into the air as if reaching for help. I swear I could hear the difference in the cracking sound the gen Crystals made from the rep crystals.
The entire time the roller made its way back and forth, crushing and smashing, the agents were all laughing, such a wicked laugh. All laughing maniacally in unison. A projector flashed pictures of Chinese factory workers in cramped, dirty little rooms being forced to assemble rep watch parts. The photos continued to flash repeatedly and rapidly. My eyes painfully moving back and forth in their sockets, my mind exploding with images. Images of replica Rolex and Omegas, Breitlings and Pateks. Chronos and tourbilons, asian made eta copies. It was all more than I could bare.
I suddenly blacked out, lost in a horrific nightmare of innocent replicas being ravaged by the roller. I was in replica hell! I could hear voices chanting in Mandarin, repent ! repent ! Amazingly transposed into english and in surround sound Dolby sound.
Then, as suddenly as it all began I awoke. I found myself and my carry on bags standing alone on the tarmac. What had happened? Had this all been some type of horrific paranoid dream? Would the guilt I felt deep inside remain? Would my very psyche be wrought with eternal scarring? Would I be able to cross the tarmac safely as flight after flight rolled down the runway? Would I be able to get an Uber to take me home?
Would I ever be able to wear another replica when traveling?
These were my thoughts as I dug down deep into my special custom made concealed pants pocket and retrieved my favorite TCV7LVX.
As I strapped on my trusty TC, I marveled at it's incredible reserve. Proudly, it was still running smoothly and only -3 seconds since I had last set and wound it 48 hours prior.
The end!

This story has been compiled from various facts and experiences as stated from an actual replica watch wearer. Any names of persons, alive or dead, or places may or may not have been changed to protect the innocent. The story teller is in fact a real person. No replicas were actually harmed during the telling of this story. The decision to wear said replica watches while traveling via public transportation remains at the replica wearers sole discretion. The story teller claims no affiliation with the watch brands mentioned .

Be sure to look for upcoming replica travel adventures coming soon !

I’m voting this for post of the year :)

It's like that quote in Pulp Fiction:

It's legal to buy it, it's legal to own it. It's illegal to sell it.

It's legal to carry it, so long as you don't go through an airport.

I wouldn't use your prison wallet when passing through metal detectors or they make you empty it.

So there I was in the line with the irritated agitated mass of humanity that was slowly working our way towards the metal detectors. I was next and had my phone and keys out already and put them in the tray. "Take off that hat" barked the imposing guy, I did and then with an inquiring look held up my wrist to ascertain his intentions for my White dialed NOOB 116520 4130. "Wow that's a really nice watch, go on thru.......... enjoy the hockey game!

I was stopped at JFK because one of my Rolex rep set off the radiation detector on the officers belt. On inspection the steel had a high radioactive reading. Maybe some factories are using cheap ex reactor stainless? Anyway, ‘I let them’ keep it.

Sounds like your watchmaker went overboard on the tritium lume. I'd get your junk checked out too if you keep your hands in your pockets.
