ZF Master Ultrathin Moon problem - second hand won't stop moving!

Hi everyone

I have recently purchased this watch.

The really strange thing is that when I pull out the crown to adjust the time, the second hand keeps moving! Rotating the crown in this position moves the hour and minute hands properly, while the second hand keeps advancing. I have never seen this happen. Unfortunately this means that it is impossible to adjust the time on this watch.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? I might have to return it if there isn't an easy fix for this.

Regards

You have a non hacking movement. It’s normal.

Same as gen Patek 5167 for example.

Having said that, I am not sure whether your particular watch is suppose to have a non hacking movement

Thanks mech500, I've looked it up. Apparently watches with non hacking movements can be fine tuned by slightly rolling the crown backwards in order to stop the second hand.

I do however worry that this may be a wrong movement for this watch. Could other owners please chime in - does your ultrathin move have a hacking or non-hacking movement?

Oh, I’ve just checked the title properly. Are you referring to the ZF JLC ultra thin moon?

If so, yes mine DOES hack when you pull the crown all the way out.

Not sure what’s wrong with yours man. Post pics of the caseback (showing movement).

It looks like the correct movement... Could be faulty or an early prototype. I'll post pics in a moment.

Sorry about the sticker and poor quality... I can see the following engravings: 925 Swiss, Jaeger-LeCoultre and Thirty(30) jewels.

Mine hacks as well. Seconds hand stops while adjusting time.

Strange - mine hacks as well. Does your movement otherwise function fine, e.g. the moonphase changes automatically?

The latest JLC hacks, as far as I know. It might be a problem with the keyless, any mid competent watchsmith should be able to fix it in a few minutes.

Spot on . The 9015 hacks and that is definitely a 9015. It will almost certainly be a Keyless fault and easy to fix.
