I always loved this watch, especially the size. IWC is know for their huge watches which just isn’t comfortable on my wrist so I tend to lean towards the smaller watches from them.
The MKS factory got this one right. It is an absolute beauty in its simplicity and the quality is outstanding. The movement runs perfect, the crown winds like butter and the rotor is completely silent. What more can one ask for?
This model is meant to be paired with a black strap, but weirdly enough I found that the dial became too white and washed out and lost its silvery sheen with my black strap. When I paired it with a dark brown strap that I had from the masters Strapmaker Jacob then the dial became the perfect warm silver color that I love. Who even knew that a strap can change a dial color?!
The strap perfectly mimics the feel of the OEM Santoni calf strap and is a real beauty.
Now my IWC collection is down to just two, this watch for the daily grind and the new Portuguieser 40 for dressier occasions. The perfect pair.
Anyway, on to the pics:
