IWC has released a new pilot. IW387901. It is only 41mm which is right in my wheelhouse. Does anyone know how long it takes for reps to catch up? If they are making this model yet?

Hi there, welcome to RWI.
You can easily find this information yourself browsing TDs' websites.
They already released the 41mm pilot but the movement layout is wrong, running seconds are at 9-o-clock whereas they should be at 6-o-clock.
Accuracy aside, it's a nice looking wrist watch.

I got the one with the green dial.
Apart from the seconds at 6,
it's a well made rep.

Wow, so I was at the wrong site. I googled puretime and it sent me to a puretime site, not pure time watch site. Same logos everything. Yeah I know you guys probably know this already... ha.. but I am a newbie.
. Just learning... trying to make sure I make no mistakes... thanks again

Hi guys, stumbled upon this post since I was looking at the Spitfire chrono with black dial (reference IW387901). Are there any members who bought this via a TD and can share their experience? Really a beaut. In doubt between this one and the 3717-01.

PS if anyone is willing to sell on of these, happy to receive your PM.

There is no correct repped version of this watch because of the running second @6

Picked up a similar one up from Trusty and it’s been really nice. I had to file the clasp edges a bit because they were too sharp from machining but otherwise it’s been a go to for me. Mine was “IWC0447 - Pilot Chrono Spitfire IW387903 SS/LE Black ZF A7750” I know some folks are into the hyper accurate thing but it’s still a great rep in my humble opinion.

Looks really nice mate! Congrats on this nice piece and replying to my question. I browsed based on your description of the watch. Is it correct that it is 43mm? Cheers

this seems to have the correct @6 position but i don't know the KKF factory, any opinions?

perhaps ZF will rush to fix the 41, I had the 377717 43mm, I sold it because it was a bit big and now I regret it
That has the second dial displayed at 6 o'clock as per the new 41mm models but it is actually the 9 o'clock dial which runs as seconds, this is unfortunately the inaccuracy of these 3881 series watches

I do hope they get the 41mm pilot watches sorted out as I really like the look of them and would probably prefer to have a 43mm Big Pilot if they ever get repped and a 41mm Chrono, they would be a good combo to have.

I do like the 3878 of @APjumbo above, that's a lovely watch, I have been so close to pulling the trigger on the AMG version for months but I think the photo above does that watch more justice than the TD Photos do.

Yes the dials are all in the right position but the dial at 6 o'clock with the red hand isn't the one which turns to count the seconds, it is still the hand at 9 o'clock which rotates once a minute as per the old 3777 models. This is why in all the TD photos the dial at 9 changes position but the dial at 6 is always pointing to 12.

So in essence the dial which should rotate once every 12 hours only with the Chrono operational is rotating once a minute all the time which is why a lot of people are put off buying the newer 3881 series until someone puts the running seconds at the 6 o'clock position, this has been don at the past but has always been a disaster on the somewhat flakey A7750 movement

VERY good to know. Can you please explain what is disastrous when a factory "reroutes" the seconds to run @ 6:00 on the clone 7750? Is it simply a case of more frequent failures or is it something else? I'm probably not in the market for one of these due to the thickness, but curious about the running seconds issue. Thank you.
