Wow, I'm surprised noone has said anything to help you.

I don't think this is beyond repair. I believe this watchsmith took a job beyond his capabilities and replaced the crown and stem with another that fit the tube. I wouldn't doubt that he probably just tossed the old crown.

A new crown and tube like this can be fitted to the watch

And a stem can be recut to fit it proper. All of this plus the work will be less than the cost of a new watch.

dbrown1395 I believe the new stem he used is too long and is not properly engaging the movement. I've seen this on a few watches before. I'm 99% sure this can be fixed

I can’t believe that guy threw it away. It’s the focal point of the watch. My guess is he used the crown on another watch. I think you might have a hard time getting your hands on a new crown. I’ve tried ordering parts from several td’s and they always tell me the parts not available. Hopefully you have better luck.
