Help, is this 7750 Swiss or Chinese?

Hey I'm wondering if this movement is worth saving. I was told when I bought it that it was "Swiss" but I want to make sure before I invest in a service.

It seems to be different than my other obvious Chinese ones.

First gen Chinese 7750's didn't have regulator. I'm not sure if all Valjoux / ETA 7750 should have it, but with quick google search I didn't find any without regulator. Perhaps your other A7750's are newer and better versions. If so, this is not so good movement even compared to other A7750's.

Swiss stampings are much cleaner .. and the movement in my pic is just a bare boned Valjoux 7750.

So this movement is crap and I should swap it instead of getting it fixed?

How much do you currently have invested in the watch?

It’s a nice-ish 3717 the only thing it has over stock is Vac did AR. I got it M2M but probably over 7 years ago.

I've had A7750 serviced in my beloved Chronomat 8 years ago by a guy named "G" on the forum (he was a legend.. took pics of each step - disassembling, cleaning, and lubrication with ETA oils to ETA specs). That was $225.00 and worth every penny. It keeps perfect time and runs as smooth as an ETA. That will give you an idea what the servicing will cost, or do you just get another watch. That's what's cool about reps.... If you find a watch you really like, you can get the Asian movements cleaned up and lubricated properly with a good servicing and they will last for year and years.... Your choice.

I have a spare 3717 with a nicer Asian 7750 I’m going to have strodda do a swap. This movement looks like junk to me. The newer spare A7750 is cleaner and has a regulator on it so it’s probably newer
