IWC Portuguese Chrono Check

Hi all,

I am about to purchase a gen Portuguese Chrono but unfortunately comes with no box and papers (albeit at a lower price).

Can anyone help me authenticate the watch based on the pictures? Unfortunately the seller did not provide better quality ones.

I will probably still bring it to a shop to get the movement checked as well.

dont buy!
Anyway, many red flags raised even if it were a genuine 3714. Cant take better pictures for a potential buyer? Albeit dodgey, no?

Thanks for the feedback. To be fair he agreed to come and meet me at iwc so we can have the watch scrutinised; this tends to be a good sign.

However, if you believe that's a fake because of the font then i probably will back out.

Was trawling through various gen v rep posts (in the second pic the gen is on the right) but the font thickness in each case appear to be accurate? Or am i missing something- probably the latter ha!

These pictures are certainly terrible quality.

To me, the case looks too thick (like the 14.5mm reps).

I'm also concerned about the "SCHAFFHAUSEN" script - I haven't seen this dial with the letters so close together (on a gen) - normally they are spaced out further (as you see on the white dial watches you posted).

If the serial # is 2678159, then definitely run away. That's the series I'm thinking of - A7750's from a couple years back, I think JF?

Case thickness is so off - this must be one of the old sec @6 portuguese chrono (pre the new ZF/YLF models)
