Not the best idea, because the pushers for the Chrono could be a problem.

It's never a very good idea to swim with a chrono indeed. However, I own one Victorinox chrono with which I regularly go swimming, but I also have it regularly tested before take it to the pool. ;)

Considering the gen is only rated for 60m which is saying its not really for swimming I would not bring my 3777 reps anywhere near the water.

For the OP, some chrono pushers are made to be water resistant -- they have a series of gaskets and springs to ensure water does not enter the watch.

The 3777, being a pilots watch, was not intended to be this water resistant. I assume it does not have one of these gaskets. The gen would questionably survive water, and the rep would presumably be quite a porous.

Most of my reps have survived in sauna, ice swimming, but not 3777!

All it takes is a slight depression of the chronograph pusher and water will flood in. can accidentally happen and by the time you realize it, well, too late. I've tested my Skyland Avenger and it's passed 6 ATM, my Daytona to 3 ATM, but I will never intentionally swim with either for this reason. I was bored one day and was curious if they were reasonably waterproof, which they are... that being said I won't swim with them. period.
