Do I need a gen tube to fix a gen crown on the mark xviii?

the mk version I got is inner thread too, I wonder if I can fit the gen crown with the rep tube to saving 70 buck.

also is there anyone know is there a different of the crown between xvi and xvii? on scotch watch the xvi crown and tube are almost half the price of xvii, but I look thru all the gen xvi and xvii photo that I don't find a different though...

anyone please shed a light on me, appreciated!

Even if it did fit which is 50/50 then I'd want to make sure I got a tube that wasn't going to strip if I was going to the expense of changing the crown as well but that's just me
