is this EXPLORER 2 GEN ?

i have seen this watch listed on a website, dude is saying watch is broken from bike accident.
and claim this is a gen one, he sells it as is for 900e

well, few things got my attention, the band is not an explorer 2 band and the hands are wrong too.

what do you guys think?

Looks like a cheap replica to me. Lume plots look wrong from what I can see through the foggy crystal. Have him open the caseback to see the movement.

I don't think I have seen a rep Exp2 with that kind of CG before. Arrows on the bezel too. They seem very close to the inner ring unlike most reps I have seen. Also 501B endlinks check out too (period correct) with 16570 and those endlinks look gen to me. I could be wrong tho!

actually, seller provided me the purchase bill from 1993, and told me hands have been replaced for better looking, and show me the bill.
watch has been bought new in 1993.

So actually, it might be a gen one, i'll see him tomorow, and will bring my case opener. it might be a good surprise, for that price....

if it is a gen, i'm thinking, to get it serviced, polished, get gen hands back and gen glass or aftermarket. i think i'll have to spend 500/600 in it, so that could get me a proper explorer 2 from 93 for 1600e all combined, what do you guys think?

Didnt even have to open it, minute i saw it i new it was chezo rep, too many things wrong with it.
the bill he showed me was from another watch....

Cheap replica in my opinion, the crown guards are way off and the SELs couldn't have simultaneously been effected in the crash. The story doesn't match up.
