Early Planet Oceans are under $3k USD these days. Seriously nice piece.

Also Speedmasters.

Oris is worth a look- their Divers 65 will leave you with much change for reps.

Sinn- quite a few.

B&R if you're into those

Or you could get a decent bracelet AND crystal for a four-digit Rolex...

I like divers and I think I'd get oris aquis, should be cheaper than that. I have held it in hands and quality is very good. If i had a bit more i'd look for omega 300 seamaster from 2018. I'd prefer it over pelagos because this one scratches too easy in my opinion.

I think I'd go with a Pelagos & to be honest I really don't think they scratch that easily. It's worth a look. Good luck with whatever you choose...

The Longines Weems Second-Setting Watch. If you like larger dials like me. I've been staring at it for a few years now....

Older Omega seamaster or the grand seiko recommendation. Based on that they don’t make good reps of either.
I may consider a gen pelagos myself one day but the rep seems so nice it is hard to justify the cost of the gen.

There was a 2531.80 on saw here for 2k the other day. If I hadn’t built a franken I would have jumped on it.

Thanks for the replies and feedback! Please keep them coming as I am still looking to add another gen watch to my collection around $3K
I already spoiled myself on this planet ocean 600m model 215.33.46.51.01.003 which is a lot more than 3K but had to share my exciting addition and present to myself not that I deserve it by any means. Happy holidays and Merry Christmas!

There are lots, especially used, which is why I have so much trouble saving up for my grail Rolex. Once you get $2-3K of savings together, the allure of those entry to mid level pieces becomes too great... some of these are well under $3000. Such brilliant watches for relatively not much money. When you think about how much you can sink into a modded or franken replica, you can buy a sensational used gen for not much more (which is essentially how my hobby has progressed over the years, hardly any reps in my collection now)

- Sinn 103 (one of the limited editions like the new green dial or the A B E blue dial) or plenty of other Sinns
- A used Speedmaster Automatic 40mm (3210.xx or 3220.xx)
- Seamaster 300 Auto Chrono
- Squalematic 60 Atmos polished blue (I have one, gorgeous) around $1500 with mesh bracelet.
- Seiko 62MAS or Marine Master with 6R15
- Oris Aquis
- Glycine Airman
- Tudor Grantour Chrono or Tudor Heritage Chrono
- Actually, heaps of Tudors now that I think about it
- Breitling Superocean Heritage
- Vintage Breitling Navitimer/Cosmonaute/Montbrilliant
- Dubey & Schaldenbrand Index Mobile (vintage)
- Alexander Shorokhoff (several models)
- Hanhart Pioneer Chrono
- Zodiac Super Sea Wolf GMT

I could go on almost forever!!

There's plenty of Cartier Santos Dumont, or Cartier Ballon Bleu, around £3000. Those are excellent, classy watches that can serve as every day watches. Personally, I think Cartier is that brand that fits in any collection; whether you've got gen pateks or rolex, you won't feel you downgraded your collection by getting a Cartier. This can't be said with some other brands.
