Polish Rolex bracelet/case or leave alone?

Just wanted to canvass the views of some of the members here.

I have a gen Rolly Datejust, which I bought maybe 10/12 years ago. My wife dropped it and smashed the crystal, so I've sent it to my modder to replace this (with a gen crystal of course!). I've asked him to service it at the same time - I didn't want to send it to Rolex as I hear they replace parts at their discretion.

My question is, the bracelet and case are full of desk dives, nothing major and look worse in pics (see below) than when on wrist. Would completely polishing these out devalue the watch or should I just do a light polish or maybe leave it alone?

I would do the whole thing. This watch isn’t going to be worth $$$ in the future so May as well get it back to tip top shape and enjoy for another 10+ years!

Have the brushed and polished surfaces refinished but with the least amount of steel removed as possible. This means that maybe not every single mark will be removed

Get the whole lot redone it will be worth it. Did the dial survive with no damage?

Thanks for your input chaps

I can see the logic of polishing the bracelet and not the case., but as others have mentioned, it's not a watch that is going to be increase in value much so may as well get it completely polished with the least amount of steel removed.

Not sure yet, waiting on Micky to assess the damage.

Looking at those photo's again makes me wonder what on earth my wife has been doing to the watch. It looks like its been through a war!

Is this guy Mickey trained on refinishing steel to Rolex standards?
