Seikos are something of a gateway watch to automatic and reps and they still have a special place in my heart. I had a couple of pretty bad Rolex reps growing up but loved them anyway. Bought a Seiko Kinetic when I was 16 because it was all gold and I knew nothing about watches other than liking the aesthetics, but getting into the 7s26 divers was my first proper foray into automatic watches and it was what got me seriously interested in watches. Got a Pepsi SKX007 from an associate who'd worn it in the police for use in a job where I needed to get physical with people from time to time, it never failed me. Bought myself an SKXA53 to celebrate a new job, the one with the presidential band. Only Seiko I still have today is a "Stargate II" SRP493K with a hacking and handwinding movement - the gateway to my first Swiss ETA movement, in a Steinhart Ocean 1, which led me to back reps.
