I finally regulate my Orange Monster!
It's been 10 years since I last wore this Seiko.
I have the 7S26B version, there is discussion on WUS about the running fast issue this mov't suffers from.
Mine was gaining several hours a day.
It's now regulated down to losing one minute a day. I will regulate it once more to try to get it under +/-15 sec. a day.
I used tg 0.5.0 for WIN10, they also offer for other operating systems. Saved me 130 bucks from buying a time graph-er.

Can someone explain why is costs thousands to get a high beat, hacking, handwinding, sapphire Seiko?

Out of interest, what was the problem in the end? Was it magnetised, did it need regulation, service?

I've always wondered with these cheaper Seiko movements whether servicing is worthwhile. Or whether it's cheaper to just replace the whole movement when there's a problem.

JDM Turtle Reissue
Who would of thought that adjusting the bracelet would have been such a PITA!
The pin collars gave me hell!
Why would Seiko ever use this pin style for the links?!?
Otherwise the bracelet feels great so no need to upgrade imo.

Great watch though and it doesn't wear as big is it looks. The case contours and crown at 4 o'clock really make it comfortable to wear.
Not to mention Seiko's world class lume, they didn't skimp on this reissue.

I learned a trick for those collars a toothpick.
Stick the Collar on the end insert pin through bracelet push toothpick and collar into other end push both sides and done

But yes it's a real PITA

lol, I must have stopped and walked away 3 times before I came to a working solution.
I did a similar approach as you, I laid the bracelet in the pin removal tool and used a dental pick on the collar side then twisted the pin removal handle (as to remove pin) and applied force from both sides finally seating the collar completely. The plus with using the pin removal tool is there is a channel that allowed me to lay the dental pick in, which created the stability my clumsy self needed.

Only wore it for one day and I love it!
I got another Seiko when I ordered this one, a JDM Presage. I'll post a pick in a few days of that one, I think this one will be on the wrist for a while. I really like the deep blue dial and bezel insert, it's so "dive" looking. Makes me want to go scuba diving "now".

Your PADI makes me want one, I will most likely grab it end of the month. Sally gave me a coupon code, so I need to take advantage of it.
