My beautiful 7928 kaput

Well, not really kaput, however I broke the winding stem this morning. Going back to the Netherlands Monday. It was a bit gritty to begin with when I got it, so a few issues need to be looked at. These 55 year old Cal.390s are tricky. This is the one thing I’m happy about when I buy from a reputable dealer, the treatment after the sale. I highly recommend buying from a reputable dealer when buying vintage. If not, who knows what happens after something like this happens?

For the record, this is the second winding stem I’ve snapped on. Cal. 390, the other was a Sub as well .

Pics of my baby, I almost cried this morning :(

It went back to the dealer for repair. Very gritty winding to begin with. When purchases dealer claimed it just had a full service. I doubt it because it was way to gritty winding when I got it which led to the snapped winding stem. No worries though, fully under warranty.
