What "replica brands" are the best?

Hello! Sorry if there's already a thread about this; but I couldn't find it.

I read on the A. Lange & Sohne subforum that there are no good replicas of Lange. Is this true?

Also, wich "replica brands" are very good in terms of quality and likeness?

I would very much like to get a Lange or Patek, because those brands I will probably never afford in the future, unless I go full-blown cheapskate and save up for 10 years. I'm new to this, but I thought maybe the rep game would let me realize this dream.

EDIT: Also, is there a thread I could learn more about replica movements? Cause I see on the TD's sites that there are asian movements, and some ETA clones etc. But I don't know wich are good or not.

It's not that simple unfortunately.

You're better off finding a selection of watches that you like and then researching them.

Example: IWC. You could say IWC is a very well replicated brand. However whilst many models are well replicated, many are poorly done. Not only that, you don't have one factory producing each model. IWC, but more recently Cartier and Patek Philippe in particular, have a number of factories all having a go, and some are better than others.

Your question is like asking 'where can I get the best pizza'. Only you can really answer that, because what I like and what you like may differ completely.

There is a 'super rep' thread that will tell you some particularly accurate reps and is a good basis to start from, if passing your watch off as genuine is your motivation for owning a rep.

I'm more interested in getting something well-built and of good quality, than trying to impress others with a seemingly geniuine watch. But I think that if someone produce a watch with all the details in place, it means that they are trying hard and that they actually care about making the watch as good as possible.

There are 2 sections that you may find inspiring: Candy eye/wrist shots and a post called "NWBIG" ( not woth buyng in gen) pick up a rep the do a research about this model, also a great tip give to me, find what models you like the most 42mm or 45mm before ordering any rep, visit a local store and try cheap ones on yoru wrist just to find your prefered size, it make a huge difference.

None at all. There are limitations to the rep game as you well know, big C, but I am overall quite impressed with the entry level Patek reps being churned out, and the dedication of members who produced the datewheel to make it even better.
