hi guys received my first rep last week...a Rolex Sub noob V9 from intime... the watch itself is absolutely stunning but when I move my arm I can hear the inner workings of the watch moving? is it normal to hear the watch winding?... it makes a click noise depending on how I move my arm also.

sorry if I am being totally stupid and this is normal.

That's normal with an ETA movement. Some are louder than others. The only real "strong point" of the oscillating weight/winding that Rolex uses is the silence. But cutting out oscillating weight axles on a lathe and dealing with the mess and damage from weights scraping the plates because a watch is overdue for service far outweighs the silent aspect IMHO.

Hello mate!

If the watch is very loud it might be a loose screw holding the oscillation weight/rotor. Take the case back off and thighten the screw in the center of the movement.

Good luck, and let us know how it works out. :)

do you need a special tool for removing the case back? or how would you recommend removing it.

cheers

If you don’t have a Rolex case back tool a sticky ball (can be bought off of eBay for a few bucks) or a ball made of dutch tape (sticky side out) will do the trick.

Best of luck, mate!

Might sound funny, but I use a pair of gardening gloves. I.E. the rubber dipped gloves. You can place the watch face down in your palm and spin the back off with your other palm. Won't leave the sticky tape residue on it that way either.
