I have been looking for over a year off and on to find the Submariner I want and it's driving me crazy. I picked up one from DHGate only to learn $60 does not get much. The movement is junk, the clasp falls off and lesson learned. I have done some more research and noticed people say that the ETA 2836-2 movement is a good dependable movement that would give me years of use. But the threads for this are 2 years old referring to the NOOB V7. They also had a V7 ETA 3135 but did not review as well. Now the V8 and V9's are out and being offered in ETA 2836 -2 and ETA 3135 but I can't find any new opinions. Is it still a good choice to go with the ETA 2836-2? What version NOOB would you pick? Is there some other to consider?
I just want a Submariner that I can get that is going to be very dependable for many years and aesthetically correct. I own watches that I have had for over 40 years and they still look and work great. I can't afford to spend the money for the real thing but would pop $500 to $600 for the replica. By the way it would be the most I ever spent on a watch.
Your help would really be appreciated.
