Hi guys, I've been browsing one of our td's website (silix) and I'm amazed by the prices of their 'economy watch". If you got a watch that's under $120. Please post some pics of them in these thread.

I've been through many economy watches from under $120. I've moved every single one on because you get what you pay for in this hobby. $120 doesn't buy you much gen or rep watch.

Agreed. I also started off with such watches and I'm glad I got rid of them with some return (better than tossing them away).

Save your money and buy the right reps - quality is better than quantity.

For economy watches, I would go for brands like Casio, Seiko as they are most robust and durable as compared to rep watches of the similar price range.

Here's mine. Aint she a beauty? There is a swiss clone 4030 movement under the hood, I've had the bridges and rotor refinished to bring it nearer to gen as well.

I'm selling it if you're interested.

Seriously. For $129 ($9 more obviously), you're getting a stellar watch.

You get what you paid for. When I first joined, I had an Avenger from WBK and a 113 from Silix. I didn't wear them outside the house and had to sold them for a loss. Couldn't stand the flaws.

Some of the silix cheapies are quite the steal... obviously the more complicated the watch the less you're going to get a decent looking imitation.

If you're looking for a cheap entry rep with no fancy schmancy bits and pieces to it I'd suggest using silix... that said as soon as you do you'll be addicted and want to buy more, and better quality, reps; that said even the guys here who buy the top reps still want more and more and more :)

Heres some Ive had or have. I am pretty sure all of them were in the price range you are talking about, with several under $100. I still have the last Ingy, the white Portuguese. Ive moved on from most, but there are a couple I regret selling. That Nautilus is one.

Now for the overkill...

Here's One: Under $85.

Here's a true "economy" watch from a non-TD. Set me back less than $85, if memory serves me well (which it doesn't always do). I like it. dave:
