One out of two delivered today, another being a Omega Spectre.

This was on my WTB list and got very lucky that a Repgeek member saw it and let me have it.

After an ultrasonic bath, a toothbrush with soap and water, silicone grease to the gaskets, and a sandflex hand block to brush out the hairline scratches, here she is. It’s also running at -1 second a day which is grand.

Another permanent add to my collection. Lost it once, not ever again.

Why? What's wrong with it?

Whoever owned it before just stuck it in a drawer for years, the movement is doing horribly and very dirty, the stem is probably broken.

Watches like these that have been unworn for many years are better off sent straight to a watchmaker for a movement, specially if it's a watch you have lusted for years and are going to be keeping permanently in the collection.

OK, very wise. I have a 3133, all serviced up, it's one of my favourite watches and a keeper.
