Seller claims they replaced Ginault insert with a genuine Rolex 16610LN. I’m having a hard time telling on this one. Legit check?

thanks for the photo. I’ve been looking at a few, but I can’t make it out. The 40 looks a bit off. Not sure if it has been shaved or otherwise.

Look at the pearl surround, the white triangle the indices and numbers. Look at the height, width and proximity of the indices, numbers and triangle to the edges of the insert. Keep looking, you'll get it. One thing to keep in mind the number fonts vary from series to series. Here's a good sample of various fonts on this gen LV insert comparison. Concentrate on the differences of the number fonts, don't worry about LV or LN. Just a good way to start seeing the seemingly subtle differences. Once you get the hang of it, they will stand out like a sore thumb. I'll check back later and see how you're doing. Have fun.

On the gen, the dark area within the '4' has a sharp point at the top. On the supposed gen insert the top of the dark area within the '4' is not pointed. Shaved off as Ksolid21 put it. Also, look at the '5' in '50'. Looks very different. The '30' also looks stretched out or elongated a bit compared to the gen. Now, the latter could be optics due to angle and lighting, but the '4' is not. My bet would be not gen.

Sorry, forgot to share this example of various number fonts on inserts using the LV chart for practice

This appears to me to be a genuine flat 4 insert. I have never seen a replica flat 4 insert, That being said if you know where I can buy a rep let me know.

These are gens

All of this is very interesting. I’ve been in the rep game for awhile, but the nuances of some of these details is lost on me. I’m going to keep trying to work on identifying this, but as many of you are probably aware of, when money is on the line there is always a heighten fear of getting it wrong.

it does seem like the insert is a flat 4 insert, but it appears cut off or shaved. But I do know TC/Ginault are a direct fit with the gen insert, so I’m not sure why that would be the case.

im leaning toward gen, but any eagle eyes out there could confirm? You guys are amazing, btw. Very thankful for what goes on here.

It’s gen! TC is the closest to gen and as others have said TC never made an insert with this print. (Flat 4)

Very interesting. So if we are looking for a insert lv or ln. Look for a flat 4 for the safe bet. Good to know. My question is did the seller change out the original insert anyway? Ginualt is a homage brand that gives it own little twist of character. But hey it's their watch. Nice piece nonetheless ;)
