So a Seller by the name of mattay2928 on ebay is trying to sell a 15400 for £2-3k.
Can he claim plausible deniability from his story - pictured below:

Surely, even though I don't own a gen it should be a two second job to check the serial number on a watch to it being genuine?

What a prick

Everytime I see stuff stuff like that on eBay with fishy stories, my spidey senses start tingling. How realistic is it that this guy bought APRO on a bit of a whim from an auctioneer who couldn't verify authenticity? Right. That's a strike-out right there for me.

Gentlemen,
you misunderstand the M.O. here.
EBay does not allow the sale of counterfeit goods, so a seller cannot offer a replica for sale. But apparently a seller can say he bought this watch that was offered as a GEN to him but he wasn't able to verify this so he's selling it for peanuts now because . . . whatever.
It's a way to circumvent the eBay police being dispatched.
