About to pull the trigger on Santos, anyone help me with some quick queries?

Still undecided if I’m getting the 100 or the 2018, been researching for a few weeks and would appreciate if anyone could help me out:

Santos 100 XL (38mm): Is the v6 still the best and is the strap on these completely terrible, I probably can’t afford to cop a gen strap for a while so not sure if I can get away with the stock strap.

Santos 2018 (40mm) : I know the big players are gf and bwf, has anyone tested v6f or know how it compares? If the strap on the V6f is completely horrible I will probably go for one of these.

Any insight would really help me out. Thanks

I’ve got the 38mm Santos xl and yes the band sucks but everything else is awesome. So close to gen it’s amazing. Hard to understand why they do such a poor strap.
