If anyone had doubts on the rep being a scratch magnet then I assure you the gen is exactly the same.
I point to a Hodinkee article which shows this quite fairly!
If you can stomach this (which is easy as the outlay for the rep is at such a discount to the gen), then the 35mm Santos de Cartier is a no brainer!

Could you please do double check with your GF Cartier Santos XL (40mm) watch about its thickness?
This picture show below shows that GF Cartier Santos XL has the 11mm thickness.
Yes this is the newly released GF Santos with the quicklink and smartlink and 9015 movement.

Idont know but look like GF Rep it without Gen Sample both big and Small , only Kor 1:1 dimensions , now all we need more efforts from Kor and upgrade more close to Gen , they need Olso to get small Gen for more perfection..

I’ve been following this thread for a while now.... it seems that the GF in the medium size is the one to go for... is that a consensual idea? Or would we be benefiting from waiting for another factory from producing a medium version ( l am not clear if there’s a factory that hasn’t done one yet).
vcappp -- firstly, the Santos 2018 that we're discussing here is not the same as the Santos XL.

As rush81 has said, the thickness of the GF Santos 35mm is around 9.2mm.
