Not sure how many Bulgari fans there are around here, but for me this has always been a very interesting watch. And now it looks like there is a decent rep of it:

http://www.trustytime.cc/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=20_178&products_id=20099

it appears well finished and it uses a real micro-rotor movement (it's a chinese Hangzhou).

Plus it's thin: at 9.2mm it won't break any record (unlike the gen, which at 5,5 is the thinnest auto ever) but it will wear well and won't look comically thick on the wrist.

Thoughts?

I have had this watch for a couple of months already and it has been “out” for at least 6+ months.
It’s a very nice watch IMHO despite the thickness will not be anytime soon close to gen values which is really thin as you wrote above (btw, it’s not the thinnest automatic watch, there are thinner ones to my knowledge).

I saw a video review from a Chinese dealer, they said the micro rotor is not really functional, you have to hand wind the watch.

Could you please post a few pics of yours? What is your opinion of the finish and quality overall?

kobe24 do you know if BVF is the same as OXF? Meaning, if this Octo Finissimo with micro-rotor is the same watch which was released last year?

From the pics I do like it... but at 9mm itis an instant tell for anyone who has ever seen the gen. Maybe at 7mm/7.5mm it could be ok to have a rep, but at 9mm it is really huge compare to gen. :(

Having a small second hand maybe it would be better to have a quartz movement and go 6mm. The small hand will make the thicking less obvious... less than the case being 80% thicker than gen.

But the question is: how many people have actually seen the gen and know that it's 5.5mm thick? This is one of the more niche brand out there as even watch enthusiasts completely disregard Bulgari as a brand.

Looked at the pictures on trustytime. The movement seems completely beat up and bad. Hmmm hope its a one off.
Also it should be titanium...we know the makers can work in titanium...why make it SS.
That is instant tell more then the thickness

There are different versions of the gen, two are in titanium, one is in rose gold, and one is in SS.

Very interesting watch construction
Too bad for the different subdial placement. Thickness wouldn't be a super major issue.
Titanium finishing looks excellent.

Good looking watch, it has a real postmodern vibe, sadly they’ll never get the thickness close to gen, I’m surprised they even put together a movement for a little brand like Bvlgari.

They did not put together a movement. Most likely the rep factory found out Hangzhou was producing this caliber and looked for the gen watch to which it would fit the most

I couldn't pull this off after handling the gen. The 'thinness' of it is insane and in silver / grey and also gold colours, wow. It's watch porn.
