With all due respect I think you're out of touch with the means of income for the average person. If you think the average person can shell out $10k as opposed to a $450 dollar rep then I don't know what to tell you.

Not to mention reps are also very in demand due to the fact that even if someone could drop that amount of money, getting these are close to impossible without playing AD games by purchasing trash watches no one wants or having to pay a shit ton above retail on the grey market.

Rolex is the only non-haute harlogerie manufacture with games. Every other manufacture like Breitling, Tudor, Panerai, etc. can be bought in gen with discounts and no games like Rolex.

either way, even in gen, those watches from the above manufactures aren’t my preference.

Apparently there is a V2 of the ZF 15500 is this true? Do the trusted dealers have it?

Get the color which you like. Why do you need a color "closest to gen" if you know you are wearing a rep? Will you buy a color you prefer less, if someone tells you that it is the "closest to gen"?
All 4 colors and dial finishes are flawed, so "closest" is a subjective thing anyway. I will replace your question simply with "what color do you prefer?"

How are you doing? I have the same question as Mike joe.I’m thinking of buying the blue or White. I don’t know which one is better and closest to gen. Thanks a lot

Thank you for this ! I got the 15400, and wondering if I move to the 15500 or not, it helped me.
Are these both from ZF? I am looking for the best blue dial

The 15500 and 15400 are very different watches and it’s largely a matter of preference. For the 15400 fans they will cite the longer and slimmer markers, the more classic dial layout and the slimmer case as reasons on why they prefer the 15400.
I have both models in my gen collection and find the 15500 a lot more preferable because I like the beefier case, the updated caliber, the new date font, the shorter markers and the deletion of the “automatic” word on the dial, the latter 2, combined with the shifting of the date window to the right, gives the owner more of the beautiful dial to admire visually. I like the cleaner look of the 15500 dial and the chunkier case personally. This is my personal opinion and preference and you will discover your own when you get both watches in hand. One unrelated trivia on the cal.4302 though, it takes 30-40 winds to start up once the watch stops when the power reserve finishes. The 3120 is a lot easier to start up through winding due to the smaller mainspring assembly. Not a factor for reps though as the 15500 and 15400 use the same movement.

And also because clone 4302 movement and other gen parts not available for 15500 yet :legend:

Nah, personally dont care for the movement, its facing the wrist anyway, the only thing that matters on this 2 references for me is the date change, and ironically the 4302 miyota is better on this than the new "clone":hehehe:

I own both 15500 and 15400
Imho 15500's hands are more clear than 15400 ones. The bit difference in the lume appears a big difference when the watch is on the wrist
15400 seems more elegant to me, but not another cup of tea.

What is the lug-to-lug dimensions of the 15400 and 15500?

Isn’t the case size for both 41mm? Are we missing something with your question? Or did you mean the dimension breakdown of the individual measurements from bezel width to the midcase/bezel spacing ratio etc

Yes, the case diameter of both watches are 41mm. Lug-to-Lug, or LTL, are the dimensions from either end of the lugs (top to bottom). Lug-to-Lug measurements give a better idea of how the watch will actually fit on the wrist since the lugs are in fact an extension of the case.

The LTL of the 15400 and 15500 are probably the same, but I had to ask to be certain. Most TDs give only the diameter and thickness of the case.

Ah ok that makes sense. The lug to lug measurement for the 15500 and 15400 for the gen are both around 50mm. And you’re right this measurement is also in determining how well the watch fits the wrist.

Gotta agree being unable to even find a gmt/nautilus/ro at retail saw me going to the rep option. I'm not keen to buy a bundle of watches that i dont desire totalling USD100k just so i can "qualify" to buy a daytona at retail..

Did anyone receive recently a ZF15500?
I’m wondering about the screw hole issue, is it fixed?

I know this is a late reply, but the LTL of the 15500 is 50.5mm and the LTL of the 15400 is 51.5mm, both rep and gen. You can also see on the comparison pics there is a larger gap between bezel and the adjacent case line in the 15400. So yes the 15500 is a tad thicker but it makes up for this by having a slightly smaller footprint.
