Thank you, I didn’t know this. What about appearance of the JF and ZF in comparison to the gen?

There are lots of threads about these, why are you not using the search function? The ZF has a very good bracelet, dial and case. The hand stack is horrendous and looks like a pizza. IMHO the XF 15202 is the best mix of compromises, but as always it comes down to what you prefer. Do your research and let us know how it goes.

ZF (I own both ZF and XF v2). ZF is better everything, hand stack not very noticeable at wrist distance. But the ideal combo (which I will be doing) is put XF hands in the ZF

Is the case itself on the ZF thinner than the XF v2? I own the v2 and I dropped a gen movement into it, but there's a big gap between the case back and movement.

I don’t know if the ZF will help either in this case. Both ZF and XF are thicker than gen dimensions listed on AP website

I thought maybe one of them made up for the different in mvt height with bezel or caseback and left the case closer to original.

When building a Franken15202, what specific franken parts would you use?

They pop up on various auction sites every now and then, even chrono24. Just make sure you get 2121, not 2120. 2120 is without a calendar but it's good to buy for parts. k1121 is another option which is the vacheron equivalent.

To what end? Why would you replace the stock rep movement with a vacheron movement that is vastly more expensive, vastly less serviceable and still not the gen movement?

Because ap2121 and VC 1121 movement is basically the same. All base on JLC 920

XF anytime. It’s the best all rounder IMO. ZF is the next best option but that pizza hour hands....can’t unsee that now

Jf is thick, zf have a atrocious pizza as handstack.
