I have the same concern as OP. I'd like to buy the white dial 15500 but I'm not sure if the dial has the same "shimmer" in the sunburst as the gen silver/white dial does. Or even if it is remotely close. It's easy to see from a wrist roll in sunlight, almost impossible to see in all the light box QC photos you see on various TD sites.

I think the 15400 would be better as its older and has had more generations to improve.

Question for the knowledgeable members out there: do the dials of 15400 and 15500 have the same dimensions?

Get the JF V5 15400, the dial has the shimmer you are looking for and the datewheel is more than acceptable. Also JF has such a good bracelet compared to others in my opinion.

legend Has a gen 15500 white/silver dial. A few months ago we compared my white ZF 15500 to his gen and both agreed that the ZF was a fantastic attempt. I don’t necessarily think the date wheel is off, it’s more the depth of the window on reps that makes it look like it’s off. Perhaps Legend will kindly show you a pic of his gen to try and illustrate what I mean but it’s up to him :p

The ZF 15500 DWs are off on the 20-29 dates. Many of them sit too high. Even on the picture above the 27 you can see its not aligned at all.
