15500 silver/white dial is out

I know it’s a computerised image so you can’t really tell until you see watch in real life but legibility looks poor

Personally I like the new dial color, and hope to see it in person soon. But I find it strange that this news was released amidst the covid19 situation, during which AP has also announced production stoppage.. thanks for sharing A.

I agree with that. Seeing AP release something where other brands like Patek, publicly state that they will delay the upcoming novelties..

My grey dial 15500 turned up the other day, more than good enough for my standards.. only slight bug bear is the clasp with the AP logo on it doesn't sit flush, any tweaks for that?

I posted about my fix for this earlier in this thread.

3 small slivers of 3M VHB tape stacked on top of each other behind the bottom of the logo plate:

It isn’t a major issue at all. Many used gens exhibit the same after years of wear. All it needs is some tightening and it’ll be good.
Let’s not place upon reps unrealistic expectations, they are made from metal and constructed in the same way the gens are. Differences will be in the finish of course and machining finesse and more precise tolerance.
Just have the clasp plate tightened up (like o did once for a used gen 15400) and everyone can move along without drama.

May I ask from from of the experienced peeps out there, what are some of the things I should look out for? Such as the places that might be noticeably different from a gen? Thanks so much!

1. Read the thread.
2. Do not bother comparing the watch to a gen and asking what may be different. It is easier to ask which aspect of the watch looks similar to a gen.. easier to answer 2-3 points rather than a list of tells
3. Please enjoy the $500 rep for what it is, rather than trying to pull it off as a gen in real life. If you want a gen, get the gen.
