Why Is There No Royal Oak Diver?

Frivolously, I'm wondering why AP doesn't make a Royal Oak Diver. Not a Royal Oak OFFSHORE Diver, but something more contemporary. As the taste for smaller watches becomes mainstream, I can't be the only person who would love a small, thin AP diver on a rubber strap! Maybe 42mm wide, 12mm deep (the Bell & Ross Diver is 11mm). Is it a no-brainer? Then why doesn't a Factory do it? I'd buy one! Or does this watch already exist? ????

It would be interesting, designing a divers bezel that would match with the iconic Royal Oak design will be a challenge.

Why dont you just buy a 15400 and put a rubber on it? Problem solved ;)

OP already stated that in his criteria for a "Royal Oak" divers model. The 15400 or its replacement would be an ideal base though. Off course we're just fantasizing right now, but who knows, maybe we can create one.

Lets see, matte black dial, larger markers with a lot lume…...

looks 10x better than I expected but still not too much of a fan, to me it's like a casual dress watch best paired with a leather strap.

Excellent detective work Tompa! I don't dislike the look. Does anybody know where I can get a black rubber strap for my 15400?

To sn95's point, I agree that overall it needs to be a tool watch rather than a dress watch.

I was really envisaging a scaled down version of the Offshore Diver, with wide hands and batons, rubberised crown and a heavy waffle Dial.

Of course it also has to contain a dive timer and unless an ingenious way can be found to rotate APs classic bezel that will have to be inside, like the Offshore Diver.

Search 26mm AP rubber strap on DHGate. $20.03 strap only, $40.29 w/deployment clasp.

Thanks gilrob . Unfortunately I have a steel bracelet on my 15400, so I'd also need to obtain a set of connection links to be able to join the DHGates rubber strap to the case. Do you know where can I get those connectors and the appropriate screw pins?

That's a better deal. I've seen conversion end links alone go for $65.00-$99.00.
