An used ladies Powermatic 80, goes for $100 - $150 on ebay. That might be the easiest way to track one down

Was able to do a powermatic 80 swap! The watch is for sale on M2M by the way.

Ok, so I got the watch back from the watchmaker. He was supposed to switch out the Diver V7's movement with the Powermatic C07.111. The watch maker said the "cannon pinion" was too high and that he used the powermatic parts on the old movement. So I'm not really sure what that means. Guy at the watch store said the watch is still running and it was dropped off Saturday, so that tells me it might have some of the 80 hour power reserve.

Dang, I wish the dude had called me first. I was told this was a 1:1 switch.

Anyone know if there have ever been issues with connon pinions on PM80s?

Sry to hear that. Do you have low beat now?

No idea. I am headed there to take a look at what we have. I am most likely going to have to send it out again to someone that can do the test to determine if the watch is fast or slow and determine the beats per sec. I can also try to eyeball it.

It sucks because I typically send a note with these things that say "Call me if you have questions." I get that 99.99% of his customers are happy the watch works and do not care about the details, in this event you are right. Do we have a high beat or low? Did he just move over the old cannon pinion or did we start to take apart the escapement or who knows what happened.

I am going to see if I can try and talk with the guy.

Ok, got the watches back and talked to the guy. Here is what happened. The old 2824 was not working correctly. So I bought a PM80 to replace it.

He basically said, the movement in the watch had a broken reversing wheel, so I took the wheels from the tissot and cleaned your original movement and saved a bunch of time! Yay!

He did not understand anything about the powermatic and that its a low beat or anything. My fault for trying to use someone local. So he put the broken wheels in the tissot thinking it was a cheap replacement movement.

Sigh. Our hobby, lol

Oh my bad it is 6..... Its quite easy to count OP

It is, when you look at both watches operating next to each other pretty clear who is lowbeat.

Good news is I found a domestic modder that is going to sort me out. Lesson learned

Can anyone share the dealer that can provide Tissot PM80 and Mido C80 movements? I’ve been searched for few days but most of the suppliers told me they don’t have these 80 models...

Ok, got the Diver back with the new PM80 movement. Low beat and a new Mikey wheel set me right. Tickleshoes over at Repgeek hooked me up. Super duper happy with the PM80 mod. Makes this watch legit

So definitely the 2840 sits perfectly in a stock v9.5 diver with a 2824 right? I'm thinking about a mod
