I just heard that 15202 will release in 2 month later, because JF maker made the wrong rotor. "AUEMARS" there is a D missed.

JF maker will fix it and then release the watch :( The false one is OK to me but now I need to wait 2 month more :( Hope they can sell first and sell the rotor alone later.

Took 9 pages for someone to figure it out haha! Damn. If JF were my company; I'd fire the one who designed this.

I think you would appreciate that English is a foreign language for the Chinese workers. Imagine that you are to make a watch typed in Arabic or in Chinese. Mistakes like this can happen all the time.

JF should issue a thinner closed case-back edition of their 15202. The sacrifice in extra mid-case thickness for this deco plate is not worth it, IMO. But I am happy with any 15202 they release, if only for the three people who need it for their 15202 Franken builds.

Of course, the stock DW is not good, but I think I have a solution. Right now I am thinking of how to deal with the hands. If the quartz is any indicator, JF probably used a cap to cover the minute pinion. The cap needs to be replaced with one smaller in diameter. You can see I am thinking about this replica, but if the rotor has that misspelling, it will be a long time before I actually get one for myself. They really need to correct that.

Hi Slaughterer,
You said that you would potentially have a solution for the DW, could you please give us some hope there? Any replacement DW for miyota movement?
Thanks
E

Very interesting observation on the curved back of the 15202. I think however that’s down to that particular piece (probably went throught some heavy repolishing and the light’s play on the beveled sides) other than anything else. The geometry of the royal oak case requires straight lines otherwise the caseback won’t fit and the water tightness would be compromised. But I might be wrong, AP might have pulled some trick with their ealier versions of the 15202 case. Modern cases though are straight as a ruller.

I agree with tosoboso, after researching and watching so many video and photos of the Gen AP15202.

Mabye they changed it. Seems like the new ones have indeed a straight case.

I’m pretty sure the curved case is an original jumbo 5402 with solid caseback?

That’s what I though too, but the author of the post was referring to a 15202. So let’s assume he didn’f know what he had, then it will make sense - the whole refinishing thing.

Its a prototype.

and it is obvious that the bezel is turned by 45° (by one screw)

so leave the flaws on a prototype alone as it was alraidy announced to be refined.
