My first 2 APs---- JF V2 44mm FC and Summer Edition

So I received my watches.

Side by side

Summer Edition AKA Le Byblos

Forged Carbon

Although typical JF flaws are present, I wanna say I am pretty impressed.

Especially with the Summer Edition, apparently they fixed the sub dials being toooooooo blue (probably with the V1s). It looks amazing now.

Note that not all Summer Edition pieces come with the La Byblos at the back, I thought it was a flaw but after checking Chrono24, most of the SE doesn't have it. (I believe its the 50 pieces for the Hotel that has it)

PS. The SE is very short in terms of strap length, it is almost certain that you will need a new strap if you even have a slightly bigger wrist. See first picture for reference!

As of right now I am planning to do the following Mods


- Mikey Datewheel

- Cyclops

- 2 x AR

- Shaved handpinion ( Can't really tell if I need it or not though as I still don't fully understand this flaw)

- Bezel Polish (To me it looks like the FC really needs it, the SEdition feels okay, might get away with out doing it.)

- Carbon Polish for the FC

- Sunken Screws (Need help, how mandatory is this?)

- Oil up (SE is notably louder than FC, However, I believe both of them needs it)

- Waterproof


and Replacing strap in the future.

Is the FC carbon V2? I thought the V2's are all brushed ceramic bezels. I could be wrong tho..

DW on the FC is messed up. It is not sitting straight and the time is showing 5:24, the change mech is nowhere near engaging. If you’re planning DW mods anyway, no need to worry. But I heard that Mikey is no longer producing them, so you’ll have to look at other options. I’m a little out of sync with where the other projects were up to

Love the summer edition. But the strap was way too short for me, vagenari has been out of stock of white for months (which is a shame because their rubber straps have worked well on JF 44mm cases for me), and the horus one I bought was a total fail. (Rubber is way too soft, so instead of a tiny gap you barely notice, when you put the watch on the strap deforms and folds up under the lugs and ends up making a huge opening)

So now I have a white hornback with navy and red stitching on order from Gunny which is going to look just lovely on this fella.

I've also been considering that Summer Edition. Loving the gold and white combination. Shouldn't the case back have the Byblos coat of arms etched on it as per gen? Or is this a different ROO model?

Two different models. They made 50pcs for Byblos , and 200 (or 250) just "summer edition" not for byblos

His straps fit on the 44MM JF cases with a small gap, which I prefer (because that way the straps don't flare out at the top when you wear them like the super tight fit rubber straps they come with do) , but I'm sure you could send him the strap it came with to use as a template also if you wanted that super snug fit.

The horus rubber I bought for it ended up being horrible, with a huge gap and a super soft rubber that slid all the way forward on the lug making the gap even worse when you wear it. The vagenari 44mm rubber straps fit like the Gunny one, with a very small gap.

After winding up it seems to be fine. Do you happen to know where I can find something that looks Gen?

I was told that this is V2, but I am not sure myself too :S

It is pretty subtle and more of a daily when compared to the SE. However, as I haven't brushed the bezel yet, it doesn't look as good as it should lmao.

I love it a lot. However, if you accidentally damage the gold plating, the silver color from the metal underneath will come out. I don't think that applies to the gen.
