It is not hard if you have watch modding experience, but the first question you should ask is where are you sourcing your eta 2846 movement, it’s not an easy task to source one nowadays.

I found one from eBay. From the pictures, it looks clean. And was told it is working and functioning.

Thank you.

Why don't you try a Tissot Powermatic 80?
The day-date version is basing on the ETA 2836.

Is it better to swap out the A2836 either to 1) Powermatic 80 2) ETA 2846 or 3) just low beat conversion?

Thank you.

1) powermatic has 80 HR no part if it broken
2) around 40-60 HR hard to source.
3) some dial and date wheel cannot interchange.
4) ask modder they will mod low beat for you. If you have some skill. There are topic how to convert low beat for diver. Just follow it.

Good luck

Has some Tissot Powermatic 80 upgrade the plastic parts to steel parts? I have some movement (Powermatic 80) in hands but it is with plastic parts.

That would be hard because the parts from powermatic 80 are rare to find. You can try to ask the sellers on eBay and on Taobao (in case you are in Asia) who sell powermatic 80 movements to provide you with a few spare parts. The current price for the whole powermatic 80 movement is $180 on Taobao and usually a part is from $10 to $40, FYI. Hope it helps.

hi bro, does your powermatic 80 has instant date-flip at 12 o'clock like the 2846 does? Thanks!
