Case thickness aside, easiest tell for me is the edges of the licks. Gen is round and smooth, rep has sharp edges.

But we are just nit picking here, the 15400 is one of the most beautiful rep I have own.

What are common flaws on the grey, white or black V4? Somehow cant find a grey version on intime but on puretime?
Printing, Tappiserie, bracelet sharp edges, what else?

I own the v3 in blue but I am looking for a different colored v4. Which one is most Gen like and what would you recommend?

Thanks :)

Amazing gen!! Thinking of ordering a V4 soon, in black. It's a safer bet :)

If it can help someone...
I got the black dial v4.
For that price it is amazing
I greased the rotor so now it's 100% silenced and it does not run as a spinning crazy TAZMANIAN DEVIL

there is half millimeter of thikness over than gen but if you consider 350€ vs 17000€....c'mon!

Hey hopefully someone can be of some help here with getting QC pics approved.

After reading this thread, I decided to order one only to have this turn into a way bigger process. After I placed my order, apparently JF released the v5 of this (as opposed to the v4 which has been reviewed). Not sure what the differences are yet, but I'm not too impressed with the QC pics I've received. The first they sent, the screws were set in way too deep and told him to send another. I still think the screws look off on this - at least in comparison to the one reviewed in this thread and the new V5 they have on the website.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I haven't approved this yet. Will also try starting a new thread. Pics are in this dropbox:

What Oil did you use for silencing the rotor ? Only on the bearings ? And how much ?

New dial JF 15400 is now available.

Will compare it with the gen when I get it.

The new Tapp looks good. It’s more flatter than before so doesn’t look as “pimply”
New dial JF printing looks spot on.

The thickness doesn’t bother me anymore.

The rep has a slightly thicker caseback but the additional beef just sinks into the skin (if the watch is adjusted correctly for the wrist size) but yeh, would be nice is the skimmed the case down. It’s a basic design change to get the cnc machine to remove an extra 0.m or whatever

mech500 what an amazing review and comparison, thank you so much! You have helped me a lot decide and make up my mind.

this new JF dial you posted on top, are you referring to the current v5 at TDs or is this yet another one / new one? If so, where can this version be had?

again, thank you so much!

There is a new dial. Still called v5. It looks very good. TD websites still show the old dial. So it’s called as a silent update until the factories decide to call it v5.1 or whatever

Someone said that with the 'new' JF's that an aftermarket xtal is not needed anymore. I beg to differ. The difference between the gen and rep are night and day. I will continue to send my pieces off to Prof, etc.
