Great contribution here. Its nice to see the complete swiss swap! I've done a few and it is not easy by any means. I've found you can also swap the escape wheel, palate fork and balance assembly to convert to a low beat. You obviously lose the quality of a 99% swiss movement though.

Question here for some of the people who have made this swap.

What movements did you all use? and what is a realistic price range for a swap+movement?

$95?? The price for the used swatch is a joke!! You can buy the same old swatch at eBay EU for $25.

The ETA2842 movement is fine for the low beat mod

Chris, where did you learn to work on watches? I don't think my hands are steady enough for this...

I broke some movements before I have learned it. So it's always better to start with some cheap movement from eBay... [emoji6]

Such a cool read. I bought a few beating movements from the bay a few weeks back. I just needed the right amount of push to open them up and get them all cleaned up. This post does it for me. Thanks for that.

This is a cool and informational thread! Thanks OP! On the swatch, does it need to have a date? I have a couple of them lying around without date.

You can use all parts for the date from the Asian movement. So a swatch without a date is fine.

Fantastic mod! tried to get those tricky screws off, they were hard enough on the diver, let alone a complete movement overall!
