Heard it from my local CN dealer today that ZF 15400 with 3120 clone movement will be coming out soon. Confirmed same movement as APS 15400. I was about to get the 15410 (APS 15400 with frosted gold mod) from him but now....decision decision....

If only they could fix the issue with the instant date change...

Personally I don't really care if the DW starts to slow change from 10pm, I usually take my watch off when I get home like 7 or 8pm. To me, the dial, hands, bracelet finishing are more critical to consider.

The dial, hands and bracelet finishing are likely to be exactly the same as the current Miyota ZF 15400. So the fact that there is a ZF version with the new clone movement loses some of its appeal because of that date change issue. It's still good in terms of low beat and (hopefully) better datehweel but if they dont diz the date change issue it's a missed opportunity

My question is, since it's a clone movement, will the case be as thin as gen now?

Given ZF crappy QC I'm not sure this is really a better option than the APS...

Hasn’t the consensus been that ZF was the best 15400 otb? Decent dials, good hands, and good bracelet… the way I see it this is only an upgrade on an already great watch

I think most people go with ZF over APS on the 15400, this is just swapping out a usually noisy Miyota for a 3120.

The way I see it however is that the fix for rotor noise on a Miyota is easy. Getting parts for clone movements however, a bit more work involved. I guess it comes down to personal preference.

Hey guys Is Im new to the rep game; I've read that these chinese clone movements are unreliable. So is it worth getting a 3120 clone or sticking with the miyota? thanks

It depends which ones, there's now very reliable Rolex clone movements for example, and a decently reliable AP 324 clone movement. But this one here is brand new so only time will tell.

If you're worried then just go for a Miyota based one
