combination of the forged carbon case

Unfortunately not a FC case :( despite the seller swearing blind that it was. I am tempted to pick up a proper Bee again but I wear them so rarely.

Got this bad boy today, APFS with the 3120 clone movement. Still need to regulate it, it's running about +40/day but with solid amplitude and beat error. Never played with a 3120 clone movement. I took a ~7 year break from buying any new reps. Just bought two this summer with new clone movements and the technology has definitely advanced, it's not mostly eta and valjeux clones anymore.

Replica oblivion…
I don't know about your country, but in mine, the AP boutique will only sell straps upon sighting the serial number for which the straps are for.
And C24/eBay has a lot of rep and aftermarket straps being sold as gen. Just be careful.

Indeed
In Australia - Melbourne specifically there are no AP Boutiques. Only a handful of specialist stores ( and only 1 appointed authorised AP retailer per the AP website ) and they are an "appointment only" entry for a consultation with a specialist. Have more chance of winning the lottery than picking up a strap just via walking in browsing and purchasing.

The control measures implemented by the brands in general are stricter now, as they wise up to the rep/franken game and is seeking to protect their brand identity through the control of watches, spare parts and accessories. However, there are still a ton of gen watch parts floating in the market today, which is good news for franken builders. You know the game has changed when you cannot just walk in to buy even a set of straps from the boutique. Those were the good ol' days. I am not complaining though, as I am a gen collector myself for a few brands, but just making an observation for whoever happens to be interested in how the boutique operates these days. Strictness is the name of the game now.

I am from Singapore too, and would probably go for aftermarket straps rather than gen straps. Thanks for the insight and heads up Legend.

It is your call, but I think it is important you know the options before making your move. The quality of the AP rubber straps has also changed, it is not as premium as it used to be IMHO. Aftermarket rubber straps work well and there are plenty to choose from. For me, putting gen straps on a rep doesn't make much sense, as it does not add to the visual believability of the watch. But I understand different owners feel differently for their watches and some swear by the quality of gen AP straps. Like I said it is your call. If you need gen straps, I can procure them for most models for you locally. But my advice is to stick to rep or aftermarket unless you really would not settle for anything but the gen one for whatever reason.

Off topic for the AP forum but I recently walked into a Breitling AD here in AUS and purchased a leather strap for my GF Navitimer. I also purchased a genuine pro rubber diver for my GF Seawolf. Both straps are substantially better than their replica counterparts. The leather strap in particular is so much more pliable and incrementally more comfortable to wear… not to mention the much more premium look. It really is noticeable. Not sure on the AP stuff but my recent AP Roo dark knight with the black red rubber band seems to be of decent quality … doesn’t really warrant a replacement. Mind you I’d love a black leather with red stitch version as an alternative for it.
